The site is filled with articles written and contributed by people from all walks of life and all types of business, including articles published in the hard copy editions of Wising UP!

Whether you are self employed, a new employee, an experienced manager or a business owner this site should have something to interest you. There is no fee to use this site and we do not pay our authors for their generous contributions - our contributors all believe that the best way for businesses to thrive is to seek and share knowledge, freely - which is what our site is all about

The articles on the main site accessed through the indeices are vetted before publication - some may be about products and services that the authors endorse, subscribe to, or provide - but, where that is the case, it should be obvious from the context and presentation of the article. Others are more general in their nature and the authors' details and contact information is included as a thank you for their contribution - with a brief summary of their business and links where appropriate. The new TEST site however is interactive and once registered, you can monitor and update your own posts with minimal intervention from us (it is moderated to ensure that users abusing the system or its other users are removed - otherwise we will not interfere!)

Our generous sponsors, advertisers and affiliate links are what support this site and its staff - so please feel free to wander off the site through any of the links we have provided. We have tried to find links and advertisers that are appropriate to the content - if you find that any of our links have been suborned or lead to sites that are inappropriate and offensive - please notify our staff immediately and the link will be removed or corrected.

Whilst we are not actively seeking Advertising or Sponsorship for this site - we are always pleased to discuss proposals that will enhance the service we give to our visitors.

History

Wising UP! is now an online magazine for small and medium size Businesses - our readers range from Managers, business owners and the self employed to those thinking about returning to work after absence, about becoming self employed or about starting their own business. Wising UP! started as an A4 full colour Business Magazine (with 10,000 readers in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area (UK)) - Hence the "local" feel to many of the early articles. This website includes the original articles of the magazine (for the benefit of both our devotees and our new readers) amongst the newer and more up to date articles that are being contributed now. We owe our beginnings to all those advertisers and sponsors that supported our early issues - so their adverts remain on the site for as long as they wish them to!
